1. About this policy
CASL requires anyone sending commercial electronic messages (CEMs) — like emails promoting a product, service, or business — to (1) obtain your consent, (2) clearly identify the sender, and (3) provide a working unsubscribe mechanism. This page sets out how we meet each of those requirements.
2. Who we are (sender identification)
Ironclad Financial Education
Operated by: Martins Obakpolor
Mailing address: 25 Evansfield Gate NW, Calgary, AB T3P 1V8, Canada
Email: normardigital@gmail.com
Website: ironcladfinancials.com
3. When we send you commercial electronic messages
We send CEMs in a small number of situations, each tied to something you specifically requested:
- The monthly learning note newsletter, if you signed up via the newsletter form
- The 7-Day Cash Flow Reset daily email series, if you signed up to start it
- Delivery of the Family Financial Protection Checklist or other requested free guide
We also send transactional messages related to a purchase — such as your eBook download link and payment receipt — which are necessary to complete a transaction you initiated and are not promotional in nature.
4. How we obtain your consent
We rely on express consent. When you fill in your name and email on one of our forms and click submit, you are directly and knowingly requesting the specific resource or subscription tied to that form — that action is your express consent to receive that communication. We do not add you to any list you didn't sign up for, and we do not purchase, rent, or otherwise acquire email addresses from third parties.
5. Proof of consent
For each signup, we keep a record of the date and time of consent, the form used, and (where available) the associated IP address, so we can demonstrate that consent was properly obtained if ever asked to — as required under CASL.
6. How to withdraw consent / unsubscribe
You can withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge, by:
- Clicking the unsubscribe link included in any email we send you, or
- Emailing normardigital@gmail.com with "unsubscribe" in the subject line
Unsubscribe requests are honoured within 10 business days, as required by CASL, and every unsubscribe mechanism we provide remains functional for at least 60 days after the message was sent.
7. What happens when you unsubscribe
Once you unsubscribe, we stop sending you that type of message. We may retain a minimal record of your opt-out (such as your email address and the date) so that we continue to honour your request and don't accidentally re-add you later.
8. Retention of consent records
We retain evidence of consent for as long as we're sending you communications, and for a reasonable period afterward, consistent with CRTC recordkeeping guidance, so that we can demonstrate compliance if required.
9. Questions or complaints
If you have questions about this policy or believe you've received a message from us in error, contact us first at normardigital@gmail.com. You may also file a complaint with the CRTC's Spam Reporting Centre at fightspam.gc.ca.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Note: This policy describes our consent and communication practices; it is general information and not a substitute for individualized legal advice. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
